If you run a workshop or small manufacturing business there is a good chance that your compressor is a traditional, noisy and inefficient piston style compressor. You hear it chugging away, even if the compressor is outside, and so do your neighbours! The noise from this type of compressor is typically above 85dBA (at 1 m) and can be as high as 94dBA, which means you would need hearing protection when working anywhere nearby.
When replacing a piston compressor, the naturally quiet, efficient and affordable option is a scroll compressor such as the Westair Pneumatics Scroll-X compressor. With sound levels as low 57 – 62 dBA a scroll compressor can comfortably and safely be installed inside your premises and typically deliver more air per kilowatt of power than a piston compressor.
Scroll-X is available in three different configuration options. These include being mounted on an air receiver tank, with or without an air dryer and filters, or as simply as a base mounted unit. The base mounted unit could possible be mounted on your existing air receiver tank, or located on the ground beside your existing air receiver tank.
